New opportunities

I've started writing reviews of DVDs and books for The Blurb, an arts review website. It's an unpaid gig but I don't mind because it's fun. And may lead to something else down the track. Plus it's so very nice to see my name in print! Although, actually, it was misspelt the first time round...

When they fix the spelling, I'll post a link.

And of course, I have so much free time on my hands... err, not really. Who knew two children could be so time-consuming and exhausting? It is a challenge indeed to make time for all my pursuits - blogging, reviewing, studying. And watching/reading the stuff to review.

That I've decided to take on all these things hinges on my very sweet and placid Lara continuing to be sweet and placid. She's a great sleeper and is such a good baby. We are more or less in a good routine, I'm up one or two times in the night to feed her and then we both go straight back to sleep. She naps well in the day and can be amused under the activity mat or just kicking her legs about on the floor. Should she decide to deviate from this happy arrangement, this whole writing thing will go straight out the window.

Am I tempting fate here?

I'm a believer in the theory that to open doors you should first fling wide all the windows. All those good energy vibes invite opportunities which makes everything rosier and you feel full of confidence, and everyone loves a happy, confident person.

That's my theory anyhow.

But it all hinges on a semi-decent night's sleep. So sleep, my Lara, sleep.
